Reading Response #3
The title of the article by Samual Taylor Coleridge is called Coleridge and the Radical Roots of Critical Philosophy. I honestly do not know what the main idea is of the article. I can never understand the poem let alone the article that I have chosen. I have been stressing on this sense I first got the article. I really want to understand what the authors are saying in their writings. Especially most of Coleridge's poems. Every now and then I am able to understand because of how his writings relate to an experience that I have been throuhgh. But what I can determin is that Coleridge and Kant have worked together to compose some poems and that sometimes they would have a misunderstanding. And that Coleridge became fascinated with criticalo philosophy in the 1790's when he was reading the English versions in papers and pamphlet.

The Journal
Throughout the day, any time of day,
I would grab my journal and just start writing about events of any kind.
Most of the time I just write about what I did throughout the day,
I would also write about how I feel at that time.
Anger. Frustration. Confused. Sadness. Happiness.
And sometimes accomplished.
Writing in my journal always brought comfort and less stressed.
It feels like I am letting everything pout out of my head and my heart.
And than as I finish writing my last few sentences its like I feel as light as the clouds.
Stress free.
every now and then I would keep my thoughts in my head and not tell anyone or write about it,
It really hurts my head and I feel like screaming.
But recently I haven't been able to write because of school and trying to get myself ready for next year.
I really wish that I could just stay home and just write in my journal.
All day.
With no distractions.
But life is always just a dream.
You want things to go the way you planned and never does.
Most of the time.
I love having something to write about. It makes me feel better.
And besides I have to work on my writing somehow.
Sadly most people don't like to write.
I do not know why but I find it mentally relaxing.
Writing helps with school and it also gives you something to do when you are bored.
My journal will always be there for me whenever I need it.

advice
Whenever someone is talking to you and giving you advice about a situatuion it is very important that you
listen to whatever they are saying. Because what they say can help make a difference and help the situation
your in. Even if you think that information has nothing to do with the problem that is present, it will help if you
remember what your friend, parent, or whomever talked to you, that advice will help in the future.
Quote by Coleridge
Samuel Taylor Coleridge
"Love is flower like; Friendship is like a sheltering tree."
Love is flower like because love is a beautiful think that is between man and woman. And a friendship is like a sheltering tree because a friend is always there for your support if you are hurt, stressed, and if you need someone to talk too. And the tree will never wilt aslong as your friendship is strong.

Who is coleridge? What do we know about him? Who was he? Why did he enjoy publishing his writings? Many people do not know that much about the English Lyrical poet, he was a critic and a well known philosopher. Lots of Americans or anybody for that matter hardly pay attention to the great writers of the 18 and 19 century. In 1797, he began to publish a short-lived liberal, political, periodical called The Watchman. He also created a good friendship with William Wordsworth. Why were Coleridge and Wordsworth not on good terms with one another? Sometime lateron in Coleridge's life he became addicted to opium, and sadly suicidal. In 1810, Coleridge's frienship with wordsworthwas in a crisis. The two poets just didn't return to their relationship they once had with one another.

Throughout his 62 years of life Coleridge has published some outstanding books, and poems. Some of those poems are <The Eolian Harp, Ode to the Departing Year, The Rime of the Ancient Mariner, The Frost at Midnight, My Prison, Fears in Solitude, and lastly Kubla Khan. The two that I had heard about were Frost at Midnight and Kubla Khan. The others seem very fascinating to me, and I would really like to read many of the poems written by Coleridge. Having to understand his writings, will most definitaly be a challenge. Most the time of trying to read any poems, it takes a while to wrap my head around the meaning of the poem. Knowing more about Coleridge's writings, thoughts, and language will help me discover what he was really feeling when he wrote and published his work. But knowing and reading the poems are two differnet things. Reading the poem is the easiest to do, but are you really understanding what he is writing. And then you having knowing what yhour reading. Knowing what your reading will help yhou grasp what the writer (Coleridge) is thinking and feeling. And I am so excited for our Poem segment so I could learn how to read and grasp what ever the poet is feeling in his writings.
